When installed at the Brewster angle of approximately 56°, the maximum extinction ratio may be achieved without having to adjust the incident angle.
They apply a dielectric coating on one side, featuring a high reflectivity for s-polarises light and high transmission of p-polarised light. An anti-reflection coating on the rear side part is not necessary as these parts are used at the Brewster angle.
