MSC presents second generation Qseven Reference Platform

MSC Vertriebs GmbH presents the second generation Qseven reference platform MSC Q7-MB-RP2 for the test and qualification of innovative Qseven modules. The new platform is ready-to-use to confirm the modules’ compatibility to the latest version (1.20) of the Qseven specification.

The Qseven™ reference platform MSC Q7-MB-RP2 offers the signals of the easily mounted 70 x 70mm compact Qseven™ module on appropriate standard interface connectors. For the first time, there is a CAN transceiver with a 5-pin header for the CAN bus defined in the Qseven™ specification 1.20. The implemented EDGE connector ensures access to the HD audio codec AC97 signals. There is also a header for MFG signals.

Besides four PCI Express™ x1 slots, the reference platform has a mini PCI Express™ & ExpressCard slot for system enhancement and a MMC/SD card socket. Additionally, an ADD2 slot for SDVO/DP/HDMI, two SATA connectors and 2 x Super I/O (Winbond/SMSC) are integrated. For the connection of a display, the platform provides LVDS via a JILI30 connector. The variety of options is completed by up to eight USB 2.0 ports, an RJ45 connector for LAN, COM1/COM2 and LPT interfaces.

The MSC Vertriebs GmbH offers a broad Qseven™ product portfolio. The embedded platforms MSC Q7-US15W and MSC Q7-US15W-FD with flash onboard are based on the energy efficient Intel® Atom™ processor Z510 or Z530. MSC’s first Qseven™ module with CAN interface is the MSC Q7-TCTC-FD platform which integrates the low-power Intel® Atom™ processor E6x0. The Intel® processor based modules are accomplished by ARM/RISC architectures defined in the new Qseven™ specification 1.20. The MSC Q7-NT2 platform comes with the NVIDIA Tegra™ 290 low-power processor with dual-core ARM® Cortex A9. MSC just presented the MSC Q7-TI8167 Qseven™ module MSC, which integrates the Texas Instruments Integra C6A8167 dual-core processor with ARM® Cortex-A8 core and DSP. The MSC Q7-A50M module is offered with AMD Embedded G-series Dual-core T40E or single-core T40R processor and A50M fusion controller hub.
