DSL announces new Tiny embedded controller

The new small-footprint and low-power ICOP-6117-X embedded controller from DSL is designed for use where space is at a premium. With dimensions of only 80mm x 50mm and power consumption of less than 320mA @ 5V, the fanless x86 controller provides the ideal platform for a multitude of embedded applications such as handheld computers, portable monitoring systems, medical equipment and battery powered instrumentation.

The ICOP-6117-X is based on the 300MHz Vortex86SX CPU with 128MB DDR2 RAM and 10/100Mbps LAN connectivity. I/O support includes serial and USB 2.0 ports and 16-bit GPIO. An optional extended operating temperature range from

-40°C to +85°C makes the robust ICOP-6117 controllers ideal for use in harsh environments, while additional IDE Disk-on-Modules provide flash based storage that simply plugs onto the IDE port of the CPU card for greater flexibility.
