FreeRTOS and OpenRTOS books unveiled at ESC, San Jose

Richard Barry, founder of FreeRTOS, penned the books to simplify the design process when using OpenRTOS and FreeRTOS, with a special version targeted at NXP LPC17xx processors.

The books are based on his already popular eBook and he feels they will reach a wider audience in printed form.

The books are called:
– Using The FreeRTOS Real Time Kernel
– Using The OpenRTOS Real Time Kernel
– Using The FreeRTOS Real Time Kernel – NXP LPC17xx Edition

Earlier this month it was reported that FreeRTOS continued to make significant advances into commercial applications when it topped an industry survey of engineers, who stated they would use the kernel in 2010.

The books ensure designers have access to the basic concepts of real-time programming and using an RTOS, as well as practical software examples using FreeRTOS and the commercial version from High Integrity Systems, OpenRTOS.

The books can be obtained through the Wittenstein High Integrity Systems website and the FreeRTOS website. The OpenRTOS book will be shipped free when purchasing OpenRTOS.
