Pushbuttons and switches are typical components of electric circuits. By using them, we can connect and disconnect current circuits, thus controlling a given machine, device, or electronic module.

While choosing the right switch, it’s worth considering the C&K products. This manufacturer has been on the market for almost 100 years, and the engineers working there designed to this day over 55,000 various types of pushbuttons and switches.

ATP22 and ATP19 series – vandal-resistant pushbutton switches

The ATP19 and ATP22 series comprise vandal-resistant pushbutton switches. This type of a switch is used mostly in all sorts of public utility equipment, for example in elevators and public transport. Due to their durability, these pushbuttons are often used in industrial plants, where the durable and failure-free machinery is particularly important.

Vandal resistant pushbutton switches are available in various contact configurations – SPDT and DPDT. They are IP67 rated and can operate in the temperature ranging from -20°C to 55°C. The body, and the button itself, are made of stainless steel, which makes the design exceptionally mechanically durable, even up to 1,000,000 switching cycles. The buttons can feature illumination in different colours – red, green, or blue. Their contact rating is 5A/250V AC and 3A/28V DC.

PLP16 series – universal industrial solutions

The PLP16 series pushbutton switches by C&K are classic designs used in the industrial sector. They can be found in basically every machine and production line as the components controlling its operation. There are two types of these pushbutton switches – bistable and monostable. The body (made of plastic) mounted on the panel can have different shapes – it can be round or square. The PLP16 series also includes an illuminated variant. The pushbuttons are mainly intended to be used in alternating current circuits, where the contact rating is 5A/250V or 3A/250V, and in the direct current circuits the contact rating is 1A/30V. Similarly to vandal-resistant pushbutton switches, the PLP16 series can operate in the temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C, and is IP40 or IP65 rated.

THB toggle switch

One of the most interesting types of switches by C&K that are available from TME is THB001P, which is part of a bigger group of THB toggle switches. Users know this type of component, with SPST-NO contacts configuration, from game controllers. If you want to build your own controller, for example for a retro console, it’s worth considering this switch. Its contact rating is 0.05A/12V DC. It’s also a typical controlling component which can be connected to any microcontroller or microprocessor. This design is intended for THT mounting on a PCB and can operate in the temperatures ranging from -10°C to 70°C. The THB001P switch can also be used in the industrial sector, as a controller for the moving parts of machines, such as arms with cameras, a manipulator grabbing small elements or electronically controlled benchtop, which has to move with extreme precision.
