Omron Electronic Components Europe has announced an expansion of its MOSFET relay portfolio, introducing models that offer increased operating temperatures and improved capacity.

The latest additions, G3VM-63BR and G3VM-63ER, augment Omron's 60V DIP6 MOSFET relay series, supporting a continuous load current of up to 0.7A and high operating temperatures up to 110°C.

These new MOSFET relays from OMRON stand out in the field of optical semiconductor technology, providing rapid operation and compact design. This marks a significant advancement over traditional mechanical relays. Functioning across a wide temperature range from -40 to 110°C, these relays enable the creation of much smaller and denser equipment compared to their mechanical counterparts. Notably, they also boast exceptionally low power consumption, particularly when compared to electromechanical and reed relays, contributing to more energy-efficient equipment designs.

Key specifications include a maximum resistance of 0.3Ω (0.1Ω with connection C) when the output is ON and a typical capacitance between output terminals at 520pF. The relays also feature a maximum trigger LED forward current of 2mA and swift turn ON and OFF times of 2ms and 3ms, respectively.

Ideal for factory automation, these new models come with NC contacts, facilitating status output to connected devices, including power OFF status. They can be used in conjunction with NO contact types, allowing for the control of multiple loads with a single input. The primary beneficiaries in factory automation span a range of applications, from PLCs, machine tools, inverters, and robot controllers to temperature control systems and fire, gas, or smoke alarm systems. The G3VM-63ER model is particularly suited for sensor signal transfer and output signal switching, as seen in gas detection and similar alarm applications.

These newly launched relays are available in stick packaging containing 50 pieces, or in tape packaging with 500 pieces (for SMT type only), and come with a selection of PCB and surface-mount terminals.
