The Hall effect technology of the new 34 THE gives it the ability to perform in conditions involving high-frequency vibrations up to 20 G and shocks up to 50 G. The 34 THE offers a very long life of 50 million cycles with a servo mount and 10 million cycles with a bushing mount, which is at least 10x longer than wirewound multi-turn sensors. The long life of the device makes it ideal for servo control of steering wheels in marine and off-road applications.
Vishay can provide any specific angle upon customer request inside the limit of 3,600° maximum, and various output signal types depending on customer requirements. The sensor features accurate linearity down to ± 0.5 %. Available with single and redundant signals, the size 09 (22.2 mm) device features analog, PWM, or SPI output, and provides continuous performance for the life of the device with no drift of linearity.
The sensor offers a supply voltage of 5 V ±10 %, with other values available upon request, and a supply current of < 16 mA for single signals and < 32 mA for redundant signals. The 34 THE offers + 20 V overvoltage protection and – 10 V reverse voltage protection. The recommended load resistance is 1 kΩ for analog output and PWM output. The device is compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC.
