In common with all BVM Mobile devices, communications are a key feature. ICEFire supports 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless LAN, has an Ethernet LAN port and, for remote working, has a 3.75G modem for WAN connectivity. Data input is via an in-built 1D/2D barcode scanner, a RFID reader and, enabling medical staff to hand input patient symptoms, it has Windows 7 Digitizer support, WACOM digitizer and resistive touch input with auto-sensing and auto-switching. Bluetooth provides a secure method of connecting with mobile phones, hands-free headset, printer or other Bluetooth-enabled medical devices. A 3 Megapixel camera enables the unit to capture images or data for local storage or onwards transmission to a remote server.
The unit comes with a multi-function wall mounting, desktop, swing arm or VESA mounting docking station that powers the unit, charging both batteries, and also recharges a further two removable battery packs.
