A BLE stack for Windows Embedded Compact 2013 has been released by e-con Systems. Windows Embedded Compact 2013 did not have any support for BLE 4.0 thus far. The stack is intended to provide considerably reduced power consumption, size and cost while maintaining a similar communication range as the classic Bluetooth. In many cases, the BLE stack makes it possible to operate the devices for more than a year without recharging.

The stack is offered with C# and C++ and API developer guides, benefiting Customers who wish to develop their own customised applications on top of BLE stack. The APIs are designed with reference to Windows 8 desktop BLE APIs defined by Microsoft, allowing customers to port their BLE based desktop application to Windows Embedded Compact 2013 environment with ease.

The BLE stack is available immediately for demonstration. Customers who wish to evaluate the BLE stack can get the iMX6 based development board, Ankaa running on Windows Embedded Compact 2013.

“We are proud to be the only company to offer BLE stack for Windows Embedded Compact 2013. We have been receiving multiple enquiries from our customers for BLE stack on Windows Embedded Compact for variety of applications such as heart rate monitors, fitness sensors, ID tags etc and our BLE stack would enable them to bring their Bluetooth Smart enabled products to market quickly," said Ashok Babu, President, e-con Systems.
