AAEON announced a low power consumption Embedded Controller - AEC-6821. The AEC-6821, which adopts the AMD Geode LX 800 processor, is an advanced version of our AEC-6820 and targets the transportation and infrastructure market.
The AEC-6821 features the AMD Geode TM LX 800 500MHz processor and optional system memory DDR RAM SODIMM (up to 512MB). It deploys two 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 connectors that provide fast network connections, one PCMCIA, and one isolated COM port for flexible expansion options. This unit also offers four USB 2.0 ports, VGA, Audio, Keyboard and Mouse, and Parallel and CompactFlash slots that makes this model a very versatile transportation engine.

“The AEC-6821 is designed to target the Intelligent Transportation environment which requires wide power input range. It features 9V DC to 30V DC input and an optional AC power that can be input through an external power adapter for wide range requirements from different market segments,” said Linux Wang, Product Manager in the Panel Appliance and Automation Division at AAEON. “AAEON’s BOXER series is one of the best selling units in the AAEON system product tree. Its award winning heat spreading system is patented and always recognized as a prominent feature. We are always concerned and aware about heat-spreading systems which is a critical factor in the transportation market. Our products are particularly designed for fulfilling the demands and needs of this industry. By incorporating the AMD Geode LX 800 into our products, we can assure high performance at a competitive price,” added Linux.

The fanless AEC-6821 embedded controller is an ideal entry-level transportation application unit.
