Aerco now stocks a range of Quick-Lock-Standard (QLS) RF connectors made by Telegärtner that offers a quick-connect version of the sub-miniature SMA standard connectors. Offering the same internal construction and low-loss RF performance up to 6GHz, the QLS range uses a patented, push-pull locking system that offers clear advantages over standard SMA connectors as the engagement time is reduced by 90% and no tooling is required. Because a torque spanner is not required, panel mounted connectors can be packed much more closely creating considerable space savings.
The QLS range has been designed to be 100% compatible with the QMA range, a competitive push-pull version of the SMA connector, but out-performs it in a number of key areas. The QLS locking system produces a greater contact force, 200N compared with 60N, and this results in better electrical performance in terms of return loss, intermodulation and contact reliability. In addition, the number of mating cycles is doubled to 200 and the QLS has a more secure locking mechanism making it less prone to accidental disconnection.

Telegärtner QLS connectors have an insertion force of 30N and a withdrawal force of 20N. Impedance is 50 ohm, working voltage less than 500V at 50Hz and the frequency range up to 6 GHz.
