Interconnect and opto component manufacturer GTK has announced a high definition version of its press-fit BNC female/female adaptor. The 75 ohm connectors can easily be inserted, removed or replaced by using a simple extraction tool, resulting in an 80% reduction in assembly time.
Standard adaptors are usually terminated in patch panels using a nut and lock washer, which is labour intensive and time consuming. However, the new press fit HD device is rapidly and securely positioned in traditional D-shaped holes (13mm x 12.1mm) in 3mm thick panels with almost no movement.

The BNC connectors feature a turned brass body which is then nickel plated. Contact is gold plated over brass, while the press fit spring is polycarbonate. A Teflon insulator ensures the highest quality performance.

Primarily for use in the broadcasting industry, GTK’s new high definition BNC connectors are ready for sample shipment.
