ODU will once again be exhibiting its connector portfolio for medical technology devices at Compamed in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 13―16 November 2023.

At the forefront are the modular connectors with spindle locking.

Employees in hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing homes, and other medical institutions work at high stress levels. Every unnecessary action costs valuable time with the patient. The demands on medical devices are increasing. Not only absolute reliability, but also fast and intuitive operation are fundamental. Connectors, too, must meet these requirements as components on the medical device.

Reduce interfaces

Modular connectors are advantageous for use in medical technology. They allow multiple media to be combined into just one interface. Combinations of signals, power, high-current, high voltage, RF signals, air, fluids, data rates, or fibre optic are possible. Only one connection needs to be connected or disconnected instead of a multitude. This speeds up expirations and increases safety.

The quick-action locking system

The importance of fast and safe locking in medicine cannot be underestimated, because in an emergency every second counts. Intuitive and error-free operation by different people must be ensured. The ODU-MAC spindle locking system ensures that the connector can be closed with a simple rotary movement. A clicking sound confirms correct locking. The convenient quick-action locking system is designed for at least 10,000 mating cycles.

The portfolio is rounded off by white variants of the connectors, which blend in perfectly with the design of medical technology equipment. In addition, the plugs are available as a complete system including cable assembly.

With ODU, manufacturers rely on a solution that convinces both in application and design.
