Three new interconnect inserts have been developed – 30Q2, 13Q2 and 17Q2 – which can all also be combined with existing signal, power and quadrax inserts to develop an infinite combination of connector layouts which will meet future bandwidth requirements. The 30Q2 model features 28 signal contacts and 2 quadrax contacts in a single size 1 insert and is available in standard rear release, rear removable pin and socket versions and also a front release, front removable socket option. Combining 11 power contacts and 2 quadrax contacts into a single size 2 insert, the new ITT ICS 13Q2 insert standard version is also available in rear release, rear removable pin and socket versions and a front release, front removable pin version.
The 17Q2 insert provides 3 power, 2 quadrax and 12 fibre optic contacts in a single size 2 insert, plus ARINC 801 1.25mm genderless termini which are increasingly preferred in newer fibre optic systems.
All pin and socket versions of the new ITT ICS connector inserts for ARINC 600 avionic connectors are available with a grommet for applications which require environmental sealing. Anticipated release dates are Q1 2011 for front release inserts and Q2 2011 for rear release inserts.
