Stringent requirements are placed on components and materials with regard to their degree of protection, cleanliness, corrosion resistance and hygiene in devices, machines and systems used in the food industry and medical technology. When machines are cleaned, cleaning and disinfection solutions are often used that can cause corrosion. This also applies to off-shore environments with aggressive salt water. This is why stainless steel is primarily used as a material in the said applications.
