Specialist in the development of innovative connector solutions, Hirose, has developed a versatile wire-to-board connector that enables OEMs to reduce the size of end devices. Part of the SignalBee connector family, the two millimetre pitch DF51 Series connector has a user-friendly positive lock that provides a clear tactile click and secures a reliable connection.

Furthermore, the dual side-lock design prevents socket lift due to vibration or cable wrenching.

To satisfy a wide range of customer requirements, the DF51 Series crimp connector is available in a number of variations including straight, right angle, in-line connection, and single or dual row. The single row versions are offered in two to six positions, while the double row is available in four to 30 positions.

Visually and mechanically polarised features prevent reverse mating and incorrect mating between a different number of positions. Gold and tin plating options support various application needs. In addition, the DF52 wire-to-board connector accepts resin sealing to protect against water and dust.

Supporting up to three amps, the DF51 Series is designed for a broad range of products including amusement equipment, industrial machinery, IT electronics, medical equipment, office equipment, robotics, smart meters, water heaters and more.

"The SignalBee connector family combines compact size and high signal performance with high contact reliability and durability. The DF51 Series low-profile connector saves board space and enables customers to reduce the size of their products," said Bill Kysiak, Product Marketing Manager for Hirose Electric USA.

The UL/C-UL certified DF51 series uses common terminals and crimping tools with the DF11 Series contacts. The connector accepts AWG #22 AWG to #30 cables. These connectors are capable of being potted up to three millimetre.

The DF51 Series wire-to-board power connector has a rated voltage of 250V AC/DC and an operating temperature of -40 to +105°C.
