Lane Electronics announce extended portfolio of connectors
Lane Electronics are pleased to announce their extended supply portfolio of fibre-optic connectors with the recent accreditation of Weald Electronics by Cinch Connectivity Solutions as a termination and assembly partner for the Fibreco family of high-performance, high-reliability expanded beam fibre-optic connectors and deployable cable assemblies.
CINCH Fibreco is a fibre optic connector manufacturer and their singlemode and multimode expanded-beam fibre optic connectors offer high levels of performance and signal integrity while being incorporated into connector formats and styles. These include XLR and D38999, some with QPL mil-spec release such as MIL-DTL-83526.
Already established as an accredited assembly facility for the EATON Souriau Elio physical contact fibre optic connectors, Weald are now able to terminate and assemble expanded-beam connectors in-house according to Fibreco’s approved procedures, providing fully terminated and tested optical and hybrid assemblies using the CINCH Fibreco MINI, JUNIOR, SENIOR, MAXI, D38999 and F960 connector families.
In addition to the CINCH Fibreco connector stock profile, Lane Electronics can now offer this additional Weald Electronics assembly service with no MOQs and with significantly reduced lead-times to its CINCH Fibreco customers who do not have their own compatible assembly facilities.
Expanded beam fibre optic connectors were developed to overcome the unreliability of traditional physical contact fibre optic connectors when used in in harsh environments due to their sensitivity to dirt, dust, mud, water, oil and other contaminants. They also excel in applications where reliability, usability and RFI immunity are important factors in adverse conditions such as military tactical communications; industrial and defence electronic equipment; petrochemical plants; outside broadcast; and mining and offshore systems.
