Hirose has expanded its ix Industrial Series with the launch of a right-angle plug version. The right-angle plug was developed in response to customer demands for solutions that combines a rugged and durable design with space-savings.

The ix Industrial is commonly used in factory and process automation, machine to machine communication, robotics, sensors, human interface devices and other devices using Ethernet connectivity.

The ix industrial right-angle version eliminates cable bending when space on the interface connection side of the device is limited. The new connector type allows the cable to be pulled out at a right angle in respect to the mating axis, reducing the height of the equipment interface connection and making it easier to route the cable in tight spaces.

The addition of the right-angle version provides more wiring flexibility with two cable assembly options of solder and IDC, 2 keying options, and both downward cabling and upward cabling right angle plug variations for use based on the application.

"The ix Industrial is an ideal connection solution for Industry 4.0 devices requiring Ethernet connectivity in an automated industrial environment," said Mark Kojak, VP of Sales and Marketing for Hirose Electric USA. "The new right-angle versions offer customers more design flexibility to meet application demands."

The rugged ix Industrial connector features an EMC resistant IEC 61076-3-124 design and Cat.6A high speed performance.
