ITT Interconnect Solutions, has recently announced that its Cannon Micro D high-reliability D subminiature connectors are onboard the Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) Chandrayaan I spacecraft, which is currently in lunar orbit. The satellite is mapping the moon, and ITT’s connectors are used to transmit information on data input and conversion equipment.

ISRO plans to develop and launch 40 satellites over the next five years, and ITT connectors are on a number of other platforms as well as the Chandrayaan 1 moon venture.

Comments Andrew Jones – Vice President & General Manager, Europe & Asia Pacific: “Jost’s have played an integral role in building a relationship between ITT and ISRO, providing excellent technical support, superior customer service and rapid response to ISRO’s requirements.”

Added G. Madhavan Nair, Chairman of ISRO: “ITT Interconnect Solutions’ dedication and commitment ensures that the company is well positioned for the future.”
