The LX series is a 0.5mm pitch ultra-low profile interface connector. Hirose has an established reputation in the industry for quality, reliability and leading-edge technology. Recognising the rapid and challenging technological developments in the dynamic field of electronics, Hirose have introduced smaller yet better performing connectors.
The LX series is a 0.5mm pitch ultra-low profile interface connector. The receptacle has a height profile of only 2mm making this one of the world's lowest profile receptacles. Although this is a compact connector the strength is not compromised. The box bent metal shell allows thin, but robust design guarantying that fully mated connectors will withstand 30 newtons maximum force applied on the plug in any direction. Excellent mechanical and electrical performance is assured by 5000 mating cycles capability.

Other benefits of using the LX series are the sequential mating contacts. This allows protection of the circuit by having two contacts protruding forward by 0.5mm at each end of the connector. These contacts can be moved to other positions upon request. The unique V shaped slit snap lock gives a tactile click sensation to give assurance that the connector is fully mated. Incorrect insertion is prevented and no damage will occur if the plug is inserted reversely or at an angle. The plug can be released if using excessive force allowing safety.

These connectors are ideal for Digital Still Cameras, Personal Digital Assistance, Measuring Equipment, Portable Readers, EPOS Systems and Medical Device applications.
