Manufacturers who find they have problems connecting to a PCB will be interested in a service from high performance interconnect maker, Harwin. The Portsmouth-based company now enables customers who can’t find a pin header to suit from its wide range, to specify a device customised to their own needs.
Pins are available up to 40mm in length, on pitches of 1.27, 2 and 2.54mm. Explains Technical Support Engineer, Wendy Bourne: “By allowing customers to specify exactly what they want we are providing a cost-effective and very flexible option for designers who have run into tricky connection challenges.” Pin headers mate with Harwin’s female sockets and samples are available for all configurations.

The pin headers are lead free and feature high temperature mouldings to accommodate RoHS-compliant solder processes. They are available in vertical, horizontal and extended PC tail, vertical and extended surface mount styles.
