Gigavac Announces Hermetically Sealed Battery Disconnects

GIGAVAC announces a new addition to their extensive line of Advanced Switching Solutions. The HBD series of manual service disconnect switches incorporate new patent pending technology to deliver unprecedented protection from hostile environments. The HBD series is the first hermetically sealed disconnect and all models exceed IP67 and IP69 requirements.

Designed and manufactured in the USA by GIGAVAC there are three HBD versions available, HBD21, HBD31, and HBD41 respectively featuring 200, 300, and 400 amps continuous current carry. Lightweight and compact (about 4 x 5 inches) the HBD series hermetically sealed contacts means users can be confident of low voltage drop, less than 50 millivolts at rated current, under any weather conditions including salt spray and at temperatures from -55°C to +85°C. All HBD models incorporate an environmentally durable fibre composite housing providing additional protection from the ravages of sun and water.
