Connector mounts for RobiFix-MINI high frequency welding lines

The lightweight RobiFix-MINI primary circuit connector system was developed for the latest 10kHz robotic welding lines. The manufacturer, Stäubli Electrical Connectors, has now introduced three locking accessories with releasable cable ties to ensure plugs and sockets remain connected. The RobiFix-MINI Lock is suitable for cable extensions as it keeps the connector locked in position even if not mounted on a wall or robot.

The RobiFix-MINI TwinPower is designed for mounting on welding robots with a dual power supply. It is especially useful for applications with twin spot welding units in which two power supplies are required for two transformers. The RobiFix-MINI TwinLock has a similar configuration, but is suitable for unmounted use.

Adoption of 10kHz technology for robotic spot welders has allowed the use of smaller and lighter transformers. It also enables RobiFix-MINI connectors to be very compact, measuring only 80mmx30mmx140mm.

Designed for 16mm2, 25mm2 and 4AWG cables, the fast coupling RobiFix-MINI can be used in continuous connections from weld timers to welding guns via robots and tool changers, even where the segments have different cable cross-sections.

The connectors achieve their long term reliability through the use of MULTILAM technology, a proprietary contact system that uses multiple torsion spring contact elements that allow electrical contact to be made via a large number of contact points. This arrangement substantially reduces contact resistance and ensures strong resistance to shock and vibration.
