C&K Components offers a family of high reliability connectors for medical applications. Designated the MTB1, MDM, MDMA and D*M/D*MA Series, the connectors are capable of operation in temperatures of -270°C to +200°C, making them ideal for medical applications ranging from cryogenic processes to imaging equipment, including CT scanners, MRI and ultrasound machines.

“While many connectors are designed with silver plating material, our high reliability connectors are designed with a combination of nickel and gold materials, making them suitable for use over a wider temperature range,” said Gilles Parguey, senior product manager for C&K Components. “The connectors are also manufactured at our European Space Agency-approved facility and are subjected to a number of tests to ensure they meet ‘zero defect’ criteria, further guaranteeing reliability and in turn, patient safety.”

The MDM Series micro-D, MDMA Series rectangular micro miniature and MTB1 Series single in-line microminiature connectors feature a highly reliable twist-pin contact system which provides a secure base for the contact and exhibits superior electrical and mechanical characteristics as compared to traditional machined or stamped contacts. Twist-pin contacts will mate even under severe misalignment conditions. The D*M and D*MA D-subminiature connectors are offered with coaxial, power or high voltage contacts, and are available in standard and high density layouts.

The high reliability connectors employ non-outgassing and non-magnetic materials to eliminate distortion in imaging equipment. The connectors are configured for board-to-board, board-to-cable, and cable-to-cable functionality. Custom designs and cable harnessing services are also available.

C&K Components will be exhibiting at the MD&M East show, July 9-11, 2009 in booth 2281 at the Javits Convention Center in New York, NY.
