Each day will consist of a number of mini-lectures and presentations by CIL staff and other guest speakers representing the electronics industry. A comprehensive tour of the CIL Andover facility will be included and break-out groups will create an opportunity for attendees to examine and explore specific areas of interest and topical subjects.
The programme is as follows:
Tuesday 20th April: “LEDs are now illuminators not indicators”
Members of the CoolLED LED design and engineering team will discuss the rapid developments in LED technology and describe the LED products that have been developed recently at CIL. Products will be shown that have been successfully applied in fluorescence microscopy, entertainment, security and defence.
Wednesday 21st April: “Electronics manufacturing and micro-packaging”
The CIL team will demonstrate to both prospective and existing customers the expanding range of design, production and test services the company offers and demonstrate the benefits that these bring.
Thursday 22nd April: “Training for the future at CIL and CoolLED”
This training day that will provide local schools and colleges with an insight into modern electronics manufacturing and informs them of the careers and training opportunities offered by CIL. CIL operates, and is in the process of recruiting for, a student apprenticeship scheme.
Friday 23rd April: “The CIL supply chain”
A day when existing and prospective suppliers can learn and understand future plans at CIL and the company’s needs for the future.
