HARTING has introduced a new generation of 8-wire cables and cords suitable for Gigabit Ethernet applications. The new cables have been introduced to address industry requirements for higher bandwidths in ‘future proofed’ commercial and industrial networks, while meeting the growing demands to use materials – such as PUR (polyurethane) and FRNC (flame-retardant non-corrosive) – which comply with ‘green’ and fire-protection requirements.
The range includes Category 5 and Category 5e cables and system cords with robust PUR jackets, as well as an outdoor rated Category 6 product with a PUR jacket. A new Category 6A cable is also available, offering a bandwidth up to 500 MHz for fixed installations. The Category 6A product also offers users a ‘future proofed’ cable for 10 GB Ethernet applications.

All HARTING’s 8-wire cables are coloured yellow; 4-wire cables are supplied in green and outdoor versions in black.
