BNC added to Telegärtner reverse polarity connector range

Telegärtner, a leading manufacturer of coaxial RF connectors, has expanded its range of reverse polarity connectors with the addition of a BNC version to the existing TNC and SMA types. All types are available in the UK from Quadrant. The term ‘reversed polarity’ is used where a standard cable plug has a female centre contact instead of a male pin and is considered an important safety feature in many polarity sensitive applications. The new BNC version is designed for interconnection between antenna, access points and PC cards in Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) applications.

Both the TNC and SMA connectors are supplied with a threaded coupling, are vibration resistant and can be used at frequencies of over 6GHz while the BNC version is supplied with bayonet coupling with crimp cable termination.

The BNC version has an impedance of 50Ω and a working voltage up to 500V/50Hz. The inner conductor is silver plated and has a contact resistance up to 20mΩ while the resistance of the outer conductor is up to 5mΩ. Designed for RG-58 and RG-316 cable types it is rated to IP54, insulation resistance is up to 5GΩ and connector life is greater than 500 mating cycles.
