Tailored for automotive, hybrid-electric, and e-mobility applications, the ER Series connector offers a compact, energy-efficient solution with an IP67-rated ergonomic handle. Its design features advanced contact and plating technologies, which allow for higher current ratings, more mating cycles, and reduced temperature rise and contact resistance compared to conventional methods. These enhancements make it a superior choice for everyday charging.
The ER Series connector includes 3.6 mm copper contacts with a voltage rating of up to 250V AC and a current rating of up to 80A. The connector is engineered for ease of use, with a low insertion and withdrawal force of less than 75N, which helps to minimize wear on both the connector and its corresponding receptacles. The rugged design also ensures that the connector can operate effectively even in harsh conditions, including when covered in ice, thanks to its Type 3S protection rating.
Additionally, the ER Series supports both Mode 2 and Mode 3 charging options. Mode 2 offers a portable and flexible charging solution, enabling EV charging through standard household or industrial sockets. Mode 3, meanwhile, is optimized for dedicated charging stations or home wall boxes, offering “controlled” charging where the vehicle communicates with the charger to set the optimal current before electricity flows.
With an operating temperature range from -30°C to +50°C, the ER Series is built to withstand over 10,000 mating cycles and can endure 96 hours of salt spray, ensuring long-lasting durability
