The Eurotec caseframe from Verotec is extremely versatile, with a huge range of configurations available by choosing different combinations of standard parts, with the most popular options defined with a single order code. It is designed for applications that require the housing of Eurocard-based cards or modules in a desktop, 19” rack mount or portable enclosure. Eurotec accepts standard 3U and 6U Eurocards, with standard depths of 240, 360 and 480mm in each option and a choice of backplane or DIN41612 connector rear extrusions. Three thermal management options are available, all providing direct mounting for 3U and 6U Eurocards.
3U and 6U units with unventilated top and bottom covers are intended for low power applications. 4U and 7U units fitted with additional ½U high reversible ventilated covers offer enhanced convection cooling and 5U and 8U versions fitted with a ½U ventilated top cover and a 1½U bottom cover, fitted with a front filter unit, accepts a drop-in fan tray for the forced cooling needed in high power applications. Optional EMC screening kits can also be specified if required. The desktop versions are fitted with stylish front trims and drop down feet; the rack-mount units have standard 19” front earpieces and the portable units have a locking swing handle. The top and bottom covers are readily removed for system building and servicing requirements.

Further configuration options from standard Eurotec accessories include vented and fan rear panels and 19” rack-mount angles with integral handles. The use of standard KM6 subrack components means that Eurotec is fully compatible with KM6-II card guides, front panels, plug-in units and other accessories. The large number of standard elements enables highly complex units to be configured from standard components, reduces time to market and ensures that non-recurring engineering costs are minimised.
