The stainless steel EMC gasket is designed in-house to offer several advantages:
- A swing handle controls a four-point over-centre cam closure that exerts the correct pressure on the gaskets – this avoids over-compression and ensuring the integrity of the IP and EMC seals,
- The door is easy to close because the gasket does not have to be heavily compressed during the closing process,
- The closing mechanism provides a mechanical advantage on the force exerted on the handle – this reduces the effort need to close the door (the roller/cam action pulls the door tight without excessive leverage being required),
- As the gasket is subjected to minimal compression, the sealing and screening performance does not degrade over time with repeated door openings – this is a particular advantage where the cabinet is regularly visited and opened for routine maintenance.
Available with steel or glass front and rear doors and with plain or ventilated top covers and bases, the VERAK enclosures feature ventilated covers supporting forced or natural convection cooling without reducing the rack’s EMC performance. Cables can be brought into the rack from the top or base and also through 5U or 10U high recessed cable entry panels, fitted above or below shortened front or rear doors. The removable screened gland plates provide a cable entry facility without compromising the EMC performance.
