Orion Fans, a division of Knight Electronics and a manufacturer of standard and custom AC and DC fans, fan trays and accessories, offers sealed sleeve DC fans at a cost 30-50% lower than comparable ball-bearing fans. The Challenger Series fans also feature an L10 life expectancy of more than 50,000 hours, equating to nearly twice the life expectancy of standard sleeve bearing products.

“Anyone looking to lower the cost of cooling their application—from consumer and white goods, telecommunications, networking and datacom equipment for cabinets, panels and electronic enclosures, and even industrial controls, servers and motor drives—significantly benefits from the use of these sealed sleeve fans,” said David Luna, Orion Fans’ product marketing manager. “Not only do these fans offer a price reduction of up to 50% when compared to comparable ball-bearing fans, but the Challenger Series fans are also quieter and last nearly as long.”

The Challenger Series sealed sleeve fans are offered in seven sizes ranging from 40 x 10mm to 120 x 38mm, and are available in 12VDC and 24VDC versions. Airflow ranges from 6.7 to 105 CFM. The fans feature a brushless DC, auto restart, polarity-protected motor with a UL94V-0 plastic frame and impeller. The RoHS-compliant sealed sleeve fans feature an operating temperature range from -10°C to +70°C.

1-99 OEM price for the sealed sleeve DC fans ranges from $4.65 to $10.00 depending on the model.
