Development board supports ARM-based microcontrollers

The OM13085 LPCXpresso board, the latest LPCXpresso development board from NXP Semiconductors is now being shipped by distributor. Mouser Electronics. It is a low-cost platform that supports various NXP ARM-based LPC microcontrollers and runs software that consists of an enhanced Eclipse-based integrated development environment (IDE), a GNU C compiler, linker, libraries, and an enhanced GNU debugger.

The OM13085 LPCXpresso Board is comprised of an LPCXpresso target board and a debug probe that’s compatible with the ARM Cortex Microcontroller Software Interface Standard Debug Access Port (CMSIS-DAP). It also has a 10-pin SWD connector for use with third-party debug probes.

The board includes an NXP LPC1769 ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller (the “target” microcontroller) with 512 kBytes of flash memory, 64 kBytes of SRAM, a 12-bit analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), a 10-bit digital-to-analogue converter (DAC), and Ethernet and USB connectivity. The CMSIS-DAP side of the board features an NXP LPC11U35 microcontroller.      

The OM13085 board seamlessly connects the LPCXpresso IDE (version 7.9 onwards required) to the target microcontroller via USB Full Speed.

The area near the target microcontroller includes a small prototyping area and easily accessible connections for expansion.

Designers can use the OM13085 board as a software development or benchmarking tool or connect it to a third-party baseboard for rapid proof-of-concept designs.

The board also features a Reset button for the microcontroller, and an ISP button for entering ISP boot mode or for use as an interrupt trigger.
