AMD-based Mini-ITX boards deliver 55% improved 3D graphics
Offering outstanding graphics performance and power efficiency for embedded systems, the BE170, BE171 and BE173 APU-based Mini-ITX boards have been introduced by DFI. The AMD R-series APUs feature AMD Radeon HD9000 Graphics technology providing immersive HD multimedia interactivity, and delivering up to 55% improved 3D graphics performance than the previous-generation.
Carrier boards provide over 693,000 logic cells
The latest two Virtex-7 FPGA carriers, from VadaTech, which come in the AMC format have been annouced. The carriers utilise the 690T device providing over 693,000 logic cells and 3600 DSP slices. The AMC527 has three banks of 114Mb QDR-II memory and the AMC516 has banks of 64- and 16-bit DDR3 memory and an on-board P2040 PowerPC.
Evaluation kit opens up hot swappable sensor capability
The Multisense Evaluation Kit from Rohm is an add-on sensor platform, opening up hot swappable sensor capability to projects. Customers can test and interchange six of the most popular sensors from Rohm for portable applications on most platforms with USB host support. It is on sale at Farnell element14.
Mini-ITX motherboard features triple independent displays
A Mini-ITX motherboard designed to support DC power input has been introduced by IBASE Technology. The MI808 can be powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Pentium N3700 or 1.04GHz Celeron N3000 processor and is paired with two DDR3L SO-DIMM sockets that accept up to 8GB of memory. Featuring triple independent displays, the device is scalable to adapt to various applications in transportation, mobile, POS and industrial automation markets.
Motherboard supports 5th Gen Intel Core processors
A motherboard which supports the 5th Gen Intel Core processors has been released by IBASE Technology. The MI985 Mini-ITX supports Mobile Intel QM87 Express Chipset for processing and graphics. It has Intel Hyper-Threading Technology and Intel Active Management Technology 9.0, for use in kiosk, medical, factory, industrial automation and control markets.
Module features 14nm processors for energy saving graphics performance
Adding to the Qseven family, congatec has announced the conga-QA4 module. The module features the latest Intel Pentium and Celeron processors based on 14nm technology. It has Intel Gen8 graphics with up to 16GEUs (Graphics Execution Units) and 4K (3840x2160px) resolution.
FMC features four re-timers
An FMC (FPGA Mezzanine Card) per VITA 57 for high-speed networking has been released by VadaTech. Alongside quad SFP/SFP+ transceivers for 10GbE in copper or fibre formats, the FMC109 features four re-timers, which provide tuning for the Tx and Rx signals.
Sensor board adds accuracy to prototypes
The new 9-axis Freescale Sensor Toolbox Breakout Board, BRKT-STBC-AGM01, features three of the latest sensing technologies incorporated onto a single board, and is a smaller-footprint version of the recently launched FRDM-STBC-AGM01. It is now being shipped by Farnell element14. These sensing technologies allow users to determine motion, position and location as well as angle of rotation.
Server & workstation motherboards support next-gen processors
GIGABYTE Technology has announced, in coordination with Intel's official launch, that its entire line-up of C220 / H87 server and workstation motherboards now supports the Intel Xeon processor E3-1200 V4 product family. Formerly known as Broadwell-E3, these single socket server and workstation processors are based on 14nm process technology.
Development package enables better embedded systems
Helping engineers implement better embedded systems, FTDI Chip has worked with MikroElektronika to introduce a cost effective development package based on the ground-breaking FT90x MCU series. For the launch, a free MikroElektronika Clicker 2 board worth $39.95 is being offered with every FT90x Compiler license purchase.
