Authorised distributor Mouser Electronics is now shipping the new AR0233AT Hayabusa CMOS image sensor from onsemi.

The AR0233AT delivers sensitivity for a wide variety of automotive and camera monitor system (CMS) applications, as well as machine vision applications.

This image sensor is built on a 3mm back-side-illuminated (BSI) pixel that features an active array size of 2048 x 1280 with 1080p output at 60 frames per second, providing greater than 140 dB of dynamic range in low-light conditions.

The sensor’s pixel technology includes LED flicker mitigation (LFM) while maintaining high dynamic range output, limiting the appearance of flicker from LED lighting and AC sources, which is particularly important for camera monitor systems (CMS) and machine vision algorithms.

With requirements being added to the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) require sensors to perform more complex algorithms at higher vehicle speeds in challenging lighting conditions for car safety.

OEMs for automotive camera systems also seek to offer more features for customers by leveraging cameras for both viewing and sensing applications.

The AR0233AT sensor is available in multiple automotive-qualified package options, including iBGA and bare die. The components are ASIL-B safety-compliant, per ISO 26262, and support ASIL-B or higher safety ratings for camera systems.

This sensor is also compatible with image signal processor (ISP) companion chips from onsemi and third-party ISPs.
