Power inductor range with low direct current rate

Distrelec has further expanded their assortment of power inductors with KEMET Electronics’ METCOM MPX Series. KEMET’s new technology is defined by its low direct current rate, making it one of the company’s most efficient series of inductors.

Commenting on the launch of the new devices, Dr Phillip Lessner, KEMET Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, stated: “Increasing power supply density and efficiency is a key challenge for many designers. When it comes to size, reliability and performance the METCOM inductors offer very low losses in a small form factor, helping designers to develop modern, high-performance power solutions that meet increasingly stringent application requirements.”

The METCOM metal composite inductors are well suited for use in DC/DC switching power suppliers, as power inductors or as EMI filter inductors. Characterised by temperature-stable inductance, the core is made from a metal composite, giving the technology high saturation characteristics like maintaining function in rush current mode.

The series features shielded construction, SMD configuration, low magnetic flux leakage, an operating temperature of up to +155°C and an inductance range from 0.10 to 47.00µH.

Steve Herd, Head of Customer Proposition and Product Management at Distrelec, added: “KEMET Electronics has once again spearheaded innovation in electronics with the new MPX Series, providing our network with more reliable and efficient power solutions.”
