Digi-Key at electronica 2022 with Eaton

At electronica 2022, on the Digi-Key booth, Caroline Hayes speaks with Akos Labady, Senior Field Applications Engineer at Eaton about passive protection elements for battery management systems.

Eaton is a big corporation, and it has made many acquisitions along the way to get to where it is right now with Eaton Electronics.

“We have so many products, I will focus on the critical ones [in this video],” said Labady. “For a battery management system, which is getting more and more complicated and complex, there are many components used. We are specialised for passive components and there are some critical ones, others being developed and some we have recently announced to the market.

“Something that we believe is our mission is to provide smaller, more cost-effective products for the market. We’re very committed to making the world a better place but that has a lot to do with power management.”

Eaton is investing a lot of resources into digital marketing – the website is a good place to start for engineers looking for information on the vast product range and specialities, but Eaton is also producing more whitepapers and literature to assist.

“We have small, 1–2-minute videos for every four numbers associated for better management and explanation quickly. Teams of application engineers are [also] ready to support all over the globe,” notes Labady.
