Series 6: Episode 6 – Women in Engineering survey shows support, cites challenges

In this week’s podcast, Mick Elliot talks with Heather Fulara, Director, IP&E (Interconnect, Passive and Electromechanical), Americas, Director of Interconnect Passives at Premier Farnell about the results of Farnell’s Women in Engineering survey.

Heather talks with Mick about what attracted to her to the electronics engineering industry, her position at Premier Farnell, and the importance of seeing women in leadership roles in the industry.

In particular, the two talk about Farnell’s survey in women in engineering, such as the fact that all survey respondents reported the need for stronger policies around discrimination.

On the topic of women in tech, Heather explains: “We [Farnell] have partnership with Women in Electronics, which is an industry group really helping to move us forward. So I think that’s where you know, you ‘walk the talk’ – having those types of efforts in place to offer support.”
