Design, engineering and recruitment firm Contechs is on the search for individuals looking for employment opportunities in EE architecture and EV platforms.

The recruitment day, which will be held on 22nd November at the Marriott Delta Hotel Warwick between 12.30 and 7.30pm, invites those with a passion for engineering and keen to develop new skills to support OEM’s and First Tier Suppliers around the globe for the next generation of electric vehicles.

The company is actively looking for the nation’s best and brightest candidates, with electrical engineering experience or who specialise in EE architecture development and EV platforms.

Contechs is offering over 175 job opportunities across the Midlands and Essex.

Using agile enhancement methods and clearly defined processes in EE architecture and EV development, Contechs delivers integrated eMobility, autonomous driving and internet connectivity into vehicle design.

Opportunities are available to those with transferable skills with a background in electrical or automotive engineering as well as a passion for developing the next generation of technologies.

With an estimated 477,000 electric cars on the road as of this year and more than 790,000 hybrids, the electric vehicle market has experienced a rise in recent years.

The EV market is predictably tipped to skyrocket in the coming years as the UK braces itself for the upcoming 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicle sales, Contechs has responded to the accelerated growth in the market by ramping up its pursuit of new candidates to fill hundreds of newly created roles.

While there is currently a significant skills shortage in the sector as the nation attempts to adapt to the swiftly incoming electric wave, Contechs Managing Director Pete Jarvis is confident the company will attract the candidates it needs to drive its growth plans forward.

Peter Jarvis said: “Over the years, Contechs' investment in people has consistently produced a strong network of design and engineering experts by operating a culture of continuous improvement within the business.

“Ultimately, it is vital to provide a strong platform and nurturing all-important skill sets if Britain is to make its mark as a global leader in the EV market. It is therefore crucial to bridge the skills gap as quickly as possible to ensure the UK’s workforce keeps pace with the latest technologies.

“Ensuring we have the right people and provide a platform to develop new skills to support the growing needs of engineering in the UK has always been at the core of Contechs.

“We are very much looking forward to the upcoming recruitment day on 22nd November and meeting talented individuals that can help support the growth of the EV industry over the coming years.”

Interested candidates should register their interest and send their CV to recruitment@contechs.co.uk.
