He played a pivotal role in founding FBDi and served as its chairman from the very beginning, driven by his deep passion for distribution.
Georg was a trailblazer and a highly knowledgeable figure in the electronics industry. His insightful assessments of industry developments provided valuable direction, sparked meaningful debates, and expanded perspectives.
His influence extended beyond Germany and distribution, serving as President of the International Electronics Distribution Association (IDEA) and contributing to DMASS Ltd during its formative years.
Georg’s optimistic vision was instrumental in fostering collaboration across the distribution sector. He worked closely with organisations such as FED and COGD, advocating for reduced bureaucracy and promoting industry networking.
His mission centred on creating a better environment for humanity in an all-electric society, emphasising the vital role and added value of distribution through its comprehensive services and solutions.
The FBDi has said: “Georg, one of the most impressive personalities who enriched our world with his commitment, charisma and humour, left it much too early.
“Especially in today’s world, his extraordinary abilities to connect people and dive deep into topics instead of just surfing on the surface were rare – and therefore all the more valuable.
“He leaves a huge void – not only as a connoisseur of the electronics industry, but also as a person who was inspiring to those around him and irreplaceable to his friends.”
Adam Fletcher, Chairman of the Electronics Components Supply Network (ecsn), commented: “The loss of Georg not only leaves a huge gap in his visionary expertise within the electronic components industry, but also as a person who was both inspiring to his fellow human beings and irreplaceable to his family and friends.
“One of the most inspiring personalities, Georg enriched our world with his commitment and charisma, departing from it and us far too soon … he will be greatly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.”
