Electronic Design Show debutant andersDX is launching its Solutions Clinic to offer visitors a glimpse of some new exciting technologies and the opportunity for a review of their current display-based projects. It will present solutions to optimise the design, size, power consumption or cost, whilst enhancing performance and appearance.

EDS visitors will be able to meet experts to discuss PCAP integration, optical bonding, custom driver and personality board solutions or fully customised, complete integrated CPU / displays. Visitors can book appointments here or just turn up and see the next available specialist.

Paul Mullen, Sales Director at andersDX explained, “The display and its interface need to be considered in relation to the end market and optimised to work with the chosen CPU. These are make or break decisions, and the number of different combinations available is currently growing exponentially. A lot of developers ‘play safe’ and reuse devices that they are familiar with, yet often there are solutions that offer better performance, smaller size, less power consumption and, in the case of displays,  enhanced performance and feature sets.  At the andersDX Solutions Clinic we can identify those opportunities and if the customer chooses to adopt those solutions, we can offer full design-in support to help bring the project to fruition, and we even offer a manufacturing service if necessary.”

Alongside the Solutions Clinic, the andersDX stand will offer a host of the latest and most powerful display and processor technologies on the market. Centrepiece is the Snapdragon Qualcomm QS600 board based on the highest performance ARM CPU on the embedded market today, offering twice the performance of previous the SBC-FX6 and SBC-T54.

The GPU has been optimised for Android, and is integrated onto a board offering Dual Band WIFI and BT 4.0. The platform is 3G/GPS ready with a Mini PCIe socket and a SIM card holder on board. HDMI video capture is an option.

Also on the andersDX stand is the DX4 plug and play embedded PCAP display platform. It will also showcase its Custom Touch Display Design Service, a rapid risk free way to introduce the same enjoyable, bezel free PCAP touch experience offered by smart phones into industrial and medical applications.

Electronic Design is at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry (October 22-23)
