element14 to host two upcoming webinars

element14 has annonced two upcoming webinars this January 2025, designed to empower engineers and professionals which will share insights into cutting-edge technologies such as DC-DC converters and MEMS sensors.

Join Cathal Sheehan, Technical Marketing Manager at Bourns, for an in-depth exploration of isolated DC-DC converters. This webinar is tailored for design engineers looking to optimise their designs for performance, safety, and compliance and will take place on 14th January 2pm-3pm GMT/8am-9am CST.

Key topics include:

  • An introduction to isolated DC-DC converters
  • The importance of galvanic isolation for safety and noise immunity
  • Selection of converter topology (flyback, forward, push-pull, etc.)
  • Transformer design and selection tips
  • Meeting regulatory requirements and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Techniques to minimise electromagnetic interference, including shielding and filtering

Additionally, in conjunction with the webinar, element14 Community is running a competition where two winners will receive a digital multimeter worth $215.

Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) sensors and discover how these precise, intelligent, and sustainable technologies are revolutionising industries. The session will take place on 16th January at 2pm-3pm GMT/8am-9am CST.

This session will cover:

  • An introduction to MEMS sensors, including accelerometers, inclinometers, and gyro sensors
  • How MEMS sensors are integrating into drones and other technologies to bring about change in industries
  • Examples of how MEMS are used, including precision agriculture as a use case
  • How Farnell, Avnet, and Murata work together to provide organisations with the perfect MEMS sensors for their applications
