EEA shortlist: u-blox
u-blox’s ZED-X20P has been shortlisted for the Electronics Excellence Awards under the Test & Measurement Product category.
At embedded world 2025, u-blox will introduce the ZED-X20P, a groundbreaking GNSS module that advances the exceptional capabilities established by the renowned ZED-F9P. Designed for optimum precision, reliability, and versatility, the ZED-X20P leverages all-band technology to deliver robust performance across diverse industrial settings. Whether in harsh environmental conditions or mission-critical operations, this new module sets a fresh benchmark in all-band GNSS reception and processing, redefining what users can expect from modern positioning solutions.
The ZED-X20P uniquely supports all major global satellite constellations, across all frequency bands, including L1, L2, L5, and L6. This broad spectrum coverage ensures enhanced positioning reliability in diverse environments, from dense urban areas to remote maritime regions. The ability to maintain accurate positioning in these demanding settings underscores the module's robustness and reliability.
Designed with the rigors of high-volume industrial applications in mind, the ZED-X20P is particularly effective in sectors requiring durable and precise navigation tools. Equipped with a range of positioning technologies, the ZED-X20P is designed to meet varying accuracy needs across different applications. It features Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) for centimetre-level accuracy, utilising local or moving base stations. For global coverage, Precise Point Positioning (PPP) provides near-centimetre accuracy independently of ground-based references. Additionally, u-blox's PointPerfect service, a subscription-based offering, enhances the capabilities of PPP-RTK, though primarily on a continental scale rather than globally. The integration of PPP-RTK with Virtual Reference Station (VRS) technology combines the benefits of both systems, ensuring superior accuracy and reliability for critical operations where precision is paramount.
Security stands at the core of the ZED-X20P. Starting with the receiver hardware, it integrates safeguards against jamming and spoofing attacks that can compromise accuracy and safety. Galileo OSNMA further reinforces the module by verifying Galileo signals, protecting against malicious signal manipulation. Together, these measures ensure that critical systems maintain trustworthy data streams essential for smooth, uninterrupted, and secure operations.
Ultimately, by blending all-band GNSS capabilities, versatile correction service, robust security, and power-conscious design, u-blox has developed a module that meets the evolving demands of modern industrial ecosystems.
