Blecon is transforming Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) into a scalable, Cloud-connected solution for the Internet of Things (IoT). Its innovative software product enables seamless, cost-effective Bluetooth IoT connectivity by eliminating the traditional complexities of Bluetooth deployment.
Traditionally, Bluetooth LE has been used mainly in consumer applications rather than industrial use cases due to its short range and the need for manual pairing. Blecon addresses these limitations by introducing a cellular-like network model for Bluetooth connectivity. Devices connect automatically to any available Blecon hotspot without manual configuration or custom gateway hardware. Hotspots can be dedicated hubs or simply existing devices like smartphones, laptops, or tablets running the Blecon app. Each device is embedded with a unique identifier, similar to a SIM card, enabling secure, plug-and-play Cloud connectivity.
The software supports industries such as industrial automation, healthcare, asset tracking, and smart cities by providing a cost-effective, low-power solution that integrates easily with existing infrastructure. Through partnerships with Nordic Semiconductor and Memfault, it has enabled advanced device diagnostics and compatibility with the latest Bluetooth chipsets, including the nRF54L.
Blecon’s software platform simplifies IoT development through developer-friendly APIs and SDKs, enabling rapid prototyping and deployment. The Cloud-based infrastructure ensures end-to-end security and reliability while offering customers full visibility into device performance and network status.
