CP Automation has appointed Jim Rosser as business development manager to oversee the complementary products to variable speed drives (VSDs) and materials handling areas of the business. The new appointment will facilitate the strategic expansion of the company’s operations.

CP Automation specialises in the supply of complementary products to VSDs, including repair and field service of industrial electronic boards, PLC's, AC drives, resistors, DC drives and inverters. This is the latest step in the company’s growth and restructuring plans, which has seen CP Automation acquire Magnetek Elevator UK, become UK technical distributor and partner for Magnetek’s material handling products and partner with power quality and instrumentation specialist Chauvin Arnoux.

Rosser has eight years’ experience at CP Automation, having previously served as South African country manager. He will be spearheading the growth of the complementary products to VSDs and material handling areas of the business - looking to reach new customers in new geographical regions.

This restructuring will allow CP Automation to grow its existing VSD peripherals area of the business, while freeing up resources to also invest time in other important sectors such as power quality, materials handling and the elevator market.

“Our business has undergone significant growth in the past few months. Rosser will play a key role in continuing our upwards business trajectory,” explained John Mitchell, Global Sales and Marketing Director at CP Automation.

“As we continue to assert our position in new markets, it is incredibly important to have experienced hands leading our VSD and materials handling operations. Rosser was chosen due to his wealth of experience, extensive knowledge of the market and focus on excellent customer relations.”

“CP Automation has remained resilient throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and this latest restructuring has further strengthened our capabilities” added Rosser. “While our customers may know us as experts in the industrial crane industry, some may be slightly less familiar with our VSD peripherals used in control panels, such as harmonic filters, brake choppers and surge and transient protection systems. We hope to change this very soon.”
