VITEC Acquires Visual Circuits Boards from FOCUS

Following its recent acquisition in 2008 of Stradis, Inc. VITEC Multimedia has announced the acquisition of exclusive world wide manufacturing, marketing and distribution rights of former Visual Circuits MPEG Multichannel Decoder boards and previously branded COMO MC-2E Media Converter from FOCUS Enhancements, Inc.
The Visual Circuits Boards and Focus/Como Media Converter technologies complement the VITEC Multimedia and Stradis current MPEG Encoders and Decoders by offering and expanding our ability to provide single and multi channel Digital Video Solutions to a larger customer base than ever before” said Philippe Wetzel, President & CEO of VITEC Multimedia, Inc.

Michael Conway, CTO of Focus Enhancements, said, “We are extremely delighted to be a part of this significant agreement. It combines the advanced Digital Video decoding solutions from FOCUS Enhancements and the VITEC Multimedia existing MPEG product line with their global sales force, R&D and Service capabilities to deliver a unique value proposition to all FOCUS customers that have been using our MPEG decoder cards and MC-2E converter.

The products concerned in the agreement are Harmony 4ES, Gemini-1 and Gemini-2, and MC-2E Media Converter rack.
