Mobile phone manufacturers can perform compliance and precompliance tests for VAMOS with the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester configured as a protocol tester (TP92) and with the R&S TS8950G (TP5) and R&S TS8980S RF conformance test systems. The new VAMOS tests specified in 3GPP 51.010-1 Sec. 26.21.x are part of GSM 3GPP Release 9. The 3GPP standardization body included them to ensure the fast and smooth introduction of VAMOS. Rohde & Schwarz participated in the specification of the tests.
The tests cases have been implemented and approved in line with 3GPP TS 51.010-1. An upgrade kit is available for the R&S TS8950G. This kit includes all 21 VAMOS RF test cases. To cover precompliance test requirements, Rohde & Schwarz also offers the test cases on the R&S TS8980S.
In addition, Rohde & Schwarz offers VAMOS test functionality with the R&S SMU200A signal generator family, the R&S SMBV100A vector signal generator and the R&S FSQ, R&S FSV and R&S FSVR signal and spectrum analyzer families.
