COMPRION’s NFC Forum RF tests ready for validation

The RF Plugfest taking place May 21-25 in Malaga was initiated by the NFC Forum with the aim to test the interoperability of NFC implementations. Particularly, the test equipment providers were challenged to show their progress in the implementation of the NFC Forum test specifications.

COMPRION presented a sophisticated test system ready for validation with most tests running automated using an industrial robot. The successful implementation of the RF tests sets the next milestone for supporting the process of NFC technology in mobile phones and consumer devices. The first steps were taken by offering validated SWP and HCI conformance test cases as well as digital NFC Forum tests.

Hajo Sandschneider, Product Manager for NFC tools at COMPRION states: “Through the convergence of the mobile telecommunication and the banking sector with mobile payment as the number 1 driver in the NFC market, manufacturers of NFC capable mobile phones are faced with a new complexity of testing requirements.”

These requirements include:
1)RF and digital tests as part of the NFC Forum Compliance Program for assuring mobile-to-mobile communication
2)Contact-based SWP and HCI tests according to GCF
3)Digital and analogue EMVCo tests for securing mobile payment functionality.

With UT³ Platform, all these requests from different industries can be tested with only one hardware platform.
