UNIPOWER Telecom will introduce its latest DC power system at GLOBALCOMM 2006 (June 4 to 8 - Chicago - Booth 20022), the World’s premier exhibition and conference for the World’s information and communications technology industry.
The new Gravitas X100 DC power system brings together the intelligent control capabilities of its recently announced DSC1000 controller and the Gravitas ultra-compact, fully integrated DC standby system designed to power a variety of telecom and other systems requiring 12, 24 or 48VDC.

According to UNIPOWER’s European Sales and Marketing Director Nigel Frey, the new system is easy to install, compact in size, robust in operation and features the control and communications features normally found in larger systems. The complete 19in rack system is only 2U high (88.1mm) and 295mm deep. Maximum system output is 60A at –54.4VDC, 99A at +27.2VDC or 100A at +13.6VDC. In redundant mode the output currents are 40, 66, and 50A respectively.

The digital controller section offers local or remote monitoring via an Ethernet TCP/IP connection with optional simple network management protocol (SNMP). This allows the controller to measure and monitor as standard a wide variety of system parameters including rectifier failure, AC power fail, bus status, battery status, rectifier and load current, overvoltage and overtemperature. Users can define up to six parameters of their choice.

GLOBALCOMM 2006 will encompass the entire buying/selling chain for the global information and communications technology industry. GLOBALCOMM replaces SUPERCOMM as the annual ICT industry event and the organisers expect around 20,000 attendees (including 20 percent from 100 countries outside the United States) and more than 450 exhibitors spread over 200,000ft²
