Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a world leader in product safety testing and certification, announced today that G&M Compliance, a provider of product certification services, has signed a Preferred Partner Agreement with UL. The signing of the agreement with G&M Compliance expands UL's services for high-tech product safety certification, including global market access.
The Preferred Partner Program enables manufacturers to work seamlessly between UL and G&M Compliance to receive a complete suite of services required to get to market quickly and economically, said Carlos Correia, vice president, UL High-Tech Division. By working with G&M Compliance, UL has increased the depth of its technical and compliance expertise for rapidly growing technologies.

The agreement with G&M Compliance is expected to reduce the cost and time to market of new product introductions by minimizing design, testing and evaluation cycles. Manufacturers working with UL for certification activities can now access G&M Compliance's value-added services such as component selection/sourcing and witnessed pre-compliance testing.

In addition to expanding UL's services, G&M Compliance has the opportunity to leverage UL's immense certification offerings and knowledge base in order to provide manufacturers with the most efficient method in obtaining UL certification, said Thomas Ha, vice president, business development for G&M Compliance. G&M Compliance also is able to provide small- to medium-sized manufacturers with a comprehensive, A-to-Z approach in achieving UL certification.

Additional services offered by G&M Compliance, which has more than 50 years of experience in product certification, includes testing and certification in the automotive, telecom, and lighting and surge categories, as well as international certification with marks including CCC (China), KCC (Korea), IRAM (Argentina), GOST-R (Russia), and GS (Germany), among others.

UL selects its Preferred Partners (which are independent contractors of UL) based on service offerings that can provide efficient solutions and enhanced certification packages to customers. In addition, UL provides Preferred Partners with further training, dedicated engineering resources and customer service support.
