Steatite exhibiting at the HOSDB Show March 22nd – 24th 2011

Steatite will be exhibiting at The Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) exhibition, the UK’s premier platform for showcasing world leading technologies and solutions for law enforcement and public security applications. Steatite brings extensive experience to the show, in the design and provision of custom solutions, including rugged computing hardware and custom designed battery power.

This exhibition is the UK’s only secure event for the engagement of UK and international police and security professionals, with a focus on:

* Security and Counter Terrorism
* Crime and Policing
* Border Security and Immigration Control

Steatite will be exhibiting a range of rugged products at the show including the General Dynamics Itronix GD300. The GD300 enables unprecedented GPS and situational awareness for anti-terror and war fighters. As light as commercial handheld GPS devices, the Android™-based GD300 enables war fighters to pinpoint their location, refer to pre-loaded mission plans and access secure tactical network. Also on display will be the Getac Mil-STD – 810G and IP65 certified V200 fully rugged convertible notebook and MH132 fully rugged Smartphone.

Steatite will also display its auxiliary power unit (APU) designed for the professional user in critical applications where reliability and performance matter. Using rechargeable lithium batteries, the APU provides excellent energy density. The pack is used widely by CROPS personnel, technical support units, rapid response units and other authorities who require portable power for electronic equipment. Steatite units incorporate safety electronics and battery protection and real state of charge LED indication.
